This universal 3D scanner is a tool dedicated to entering a 3D world both for technical measurements as well as historical preservation, where the color of the object is as crucial as it’s shape and size.

SMARTTECH3D UNIVERSE was created for mobility, comfort, and ease of use. Keeping to the mindset that a 3D scanner should be a reliable optical measurement device with a given accuracy. This small “plug & scan” device fits easily in your carry on luggage and combined with the compact rotary table allows scanning automation while also enabling scanning of large-size objects with marker and feature alignment functions. This allows our users the ability to scan a range of objects from 20 mm up to 3 m and beyond.

 

With two scan resolution modes available, you are able to optimize data volume when scanning large objects, and increase the resolution for highly detailed part features, such as mounting holes.

The Universe offers a complete hardware-software solution for obtaining 3D documentation of physical object for both digital and real-life processing such as subtractive or additive manufacturing.

During the capture process, the UNIVERSE obtains information about the object’s geometry (XYZ coordinates) and realistic color representation in every measured point. High quality and high resolution color sensors used assures that measurements are made with high precision and even small details, such as the brush strokes on an object can be seen clearly.

The scanner is calibrated at the time of manufacture and includes a certificate of accuracy, confirming this as a 3D measurement tool for both technical and visually accurate digital twins.

Included with the UNIVERSE is Smarttech 3D Measure software, this dedicated measurement and post-processing software enables the end-user to capture, process, mesh and prepare part quality reports along numerous other tools, all within one software package.

Smartmeasure3D offers multiple export formats of both point cloud (.ply .obj .wrl .txt) and triangulated mesh (.stl .obj .ply) making the data easy to open in other scan processing software (Polyworks, Verisurf, Geomagic, etc…), CAD platforms and 3D graphics/modeling software (Maya, ZBrush or 3DSmax).

With the free SMARTTECH3Dmeasure Viewer, users can easily share the results with others without the need to export or convert files.
